Huh anime?

Why do people freak out about this shit? I've never seen anime as anything special.

I've seen people foam at the mouth at anything that remotely looks like anime, even if it's shit, like Naruto.
I've also seen people lose their shit when someone tries to make them watch an anime.
I've seen people that will refuse to watch anything other than anime, claiming it's "superior" to all other mediums.

Why do we give this shit a label? I've seen good anime, bad anime, and they're just like any other movies/tv shows I've seen. Stop calling it anime and just accept that it's a fucking cartoon, for fucks sake.
